4 Access Methods For A Keyless Entry System For Your Business

Posted on

If you want to keep your business secure, you should consider upgrading to a keyless entry system. A locksmith can help you upgrade your business to a keyless entry system.

There are various electronic access control system configurations you can use when it comes to a keyless entry system. Key fobs, keypad, or a Bluetooth enabled device are all ways to access a keyless entry system.

Access Method #1: Key Fob

One way to allow access to your building is with a key fob. A key fob is a small security token that you can quickly put on a key chain. A key fob has an authentication device that is built into its structure. The authentication device inside the fob can either grant you access to a building or deny you entry.

A key fob can be structured so that it doesn't just give blanket access to a building; it can be structured to only grant access during specific time periods that reflect when you want that individual to have access to the building. You can give different levels of access for individual key fobs.

Access Method #2: Keypad

Another way to allow access with a keyless entry system is through the use of a keypad. With a keypad, you have to put in a code to get into the building. The code usually has to be somewhere between three to five digits.

With a keypad system, you can usually program more than one keycode. You can give out keycodes that only allow access to your building during certain hours. Or you can give out a temporary keycode if someone needs quick access to your facility.

Access Method #3: Bluetooth Enabled Device

With a Bluetooth lock, you have to use a Bluetooth-enabled device set-up with the right security program that will send a signal to the lock to unlock it. This is a very advanced system and allows you to also remotely unlock your building for people. With this type of system, you need to make sure your phone or tablet is always charged. With many Bluetooth devices, you can set-up an access code as well.

A keyless entry system is great for any business that requires a high-security level, as someone can't just copy a key and access your building; they have to have the right programmed device to enter your building. If you ever want to revoke access, that is simple and can be done using your management system for your facility. You don't have to collect a key back or rekey the locks; you can simply revoke access. A skilled locksmith can help you set-up a keyless entry system for your business.
